Lesotho has been put under spotlight by the heads of states of the Southern Afican Development Community (SADC) after feedback from the team that had been send by the bloc to assess the situation after the murder of its Defence Commander.
Troops will be deployed to keep the security situation under check as fears that it might plunge into a war zone if not checked. Lieutenant General Khoantle Motsomotso was shot dead in his office at the Defence headquarters in Maseru by Brigadier General Bulane Sechele and Colonel Tefo Hashatsi who were under investigation for the murder of another Lesotho Commander in 2015.
SADC chairperson Jacob Zuma said he was moved by the death of General Motsomotso. The deployment of troops will keep the situation in Lesotho under check.
